Meet our Team



Joseph is a Program Manager who works with at risk youth and families to help them live together successfully. After spending nearly a decade working in the non profit sector on both the mental health and development realms, Joseph believes that every child deserves the opportunity to better themselves through academics and teamwork.


Joseph has developed hundreds of staff throughout his tenure as a Manager who have gone on to excel in their chosen careers. He has also played intricate roles in securing funding for other non profit organizations through grant writing and networking.


Joseph is a member of New Memphis Institute as well as Omega Psi Phi fraternity. He is also certified in Crisis Prevention and Intervention, Collaborative Problem Solving, Anger Replacement Therapy, First Aid and CPR, and a Certified Lifeguard. Joseph holds a Masters degree from the University of Memphis in Strategic Leadership, A Bachelor's Degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in Health and Physical Education and he is a graduate of West Memphis High School class of 2004.



Katelyn Djan joined Weems World as Director of Development in 2020. Katelyn joins the team at Weems World having long dedicated herself to ensuring her life’s work is in service to those most vulnerable and as a voice for those in need. Joining the Weems World team has offered her the opportunity to combine this work with her love of sports. Katelyn has worked with various organizations including, the United Way, City Centre Baptist Church, Grey Cup, March of Dimes, Hashtag LunchBag, and Scotiabank’s Bright Future. She has volunteered her time with all of these organizations and in some cases helped with fund development and campaign design.

Currently Katelyn is a member on the NBWA, sitting on their social impact and event committees. As the owner of Beyond the Jersey, a sports management company based in Toronto, she works to eliminate the distractions while the athletes and trainers pursue excellence. A large part of the pursuit of excellence is instilling the value of giving back to the community and assisting clients in their philanthropic efforts.

As a mother, Katelyn knows the value of children having the opportunity to develop skills and fall in love with a sports and education. She is passionate about creating the space and opportunity for them where they will be cared for, mentored, educated, and most importantly have fun while learning new skills and embracing their love of self.



Karlescia Brookins has joined our team as an Programming and Events Director at Weems World Foundation. She currently serves as an Agency Relationship Associate with the United Way of the Mid-South. She has a plethora of experience in the nonprofit and government sectors. Karlescia is a Tennessee VOL, receiving a degree in Sociology-Criminal Justice in 2011, and most recently her MPA from Ohio University. She is excited to offer her diverse skill set and knowledge to help grow capacity for the Foundation.



Wesley has been employed with the American Red Cross for 1  1/2 years, where he is the Business Operations Specialist for the Mid-South and Mid-West chapters. He oversees both Fleet and Facilities for both chapters. As a Specialist Wesley manages monetary donations including receiving, depositing, and tracking of checks received. He also analyzes data sets and provide daily/weekly/monthly revenue expense reporting to help evaluate present and future performance.

Previously he was worked at UPS for 12 years. For 8 years he supervised team members and managed three facilities in TN. He also served as the back up for his manager who supervises facilities throughout the Southeast US.  Wesley has performed a variety tasks, has a strong operations skill set, and is used to redirecting his focus at a moments notice.

Wesley is a proud graduate of West Memphis Senior high c/o 2003. Wesley holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration-Marketing with a minor in Accounting from Christian Brothers University. 



Reisha Jack is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider designation in the state of TN. She received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Memphis. Reisha recently opened a private practice in Downtown Memphis, TN where she counsels adult men and women with mental and emotional struggles.  Reisha is originally from West Memphis, AR but currently resides in the Memphis area with her husband of 13 years and their 3 children. 

Reisha has been apart of the community outreach efforts produced by Sonny Weems since 2014, serving as event planner, and later, consultant to Weem's World staff.  Reisha enjoys coordinating with other staff and volunteers to plan, coordinate, and execute program initiatives and events. 
Reisha believes herself to have been intentionally created for the purpose of helping others, by bringing them into a greater sense of awareness about themselves and the repeated patterns in their lives.  This awareness can help them to understand and to believe that they are able to maintain control and power over themselves and their situations, enabling them to craft the internal conditions that they desire, which manifest outwardly in magnificent ways.



W. Randolph Brown III is an award winning veteran educator, creative and serial entrepreneur. Brown is the Chief Creative Officer/Founder of Memphis based media firm Design 31 and Co-Founder of Faith Prep Postgraduate Academy in West Memphis, AR. A Leadership Memphis Alum, Porter-Goodwill Boys Club board member and founding board member of the Memphis chapter of the American Marketing Association, Willard has been a stalwart in the Mid-South education and business communities for over 17 years. He will be serving the Eastern Arkansas community as Weems World Director of Communications.
